Swat Liability & Training Management (1 day)

A two-day course designed to provide SWAT Team leaders and trainers with the ability to design, plan and prepare proactive training guidelines, manuals, events, calendars and support documents in order to best utilize limited training time and opportunities in order to produce the highest quality personnel and team capability; and to provide SWAT team leaders and trainers with proven risk mitigation methodologies to counter risk within the three main risk areas for SWAT Teams, i.e. legal, training and operations

 

Forming a Multi-Jurisdictional SWAT Team (4 hrs)

 Faced with the prospect of a critical incident that surpasses the resources of first responders, many smaller agencies find that their best alternative is to pool resources and form a part-time multi-jurisdictional SWAT team. For teams to function properly, appropriate policies and procedures need to be in place to allow them to respond in a safe and orderly manner. This course will assist potential teams in selecting team members and command staff, training issues, financing and equipment, SWAT response, discipline and use-of-force issues and growing the team.

 

Incident and Tactical Command Post Operations (1 day)

 

Incident commanders, tactical commanders and team members, crisis negotiation team (CNT) supervisors, CNT members and patrol supervisors are encouraged to attend this seminar, which will detail how to set up a command post when responding to a critical incident. Topics to be covered include incident and tactical command of a critical incident, the tactical operations center (TOC) concept, information collection and dissemination methods and the latest computer technology and software to manage a major violent critical incident.

 

 Basic SWAT (5 days)

 

 Individuals who have recently been assigned to SWAT and have not received basic SWAT training will benefit   from this comprehensive introduction to tactical skills. Students will be introduced to basic SWAT topics,    tactics and techniques including a historical overview of SWAT, team organization and structure, resolution of barricaded suspect situations, covert individual and team movement, searches and room clearing, chemical agents, less-lethal options, warrant service and multiple field training exercises. This is a hands-on, high-intensity course in which students practice tactics and techniques in the field.

 

Advanced SWAT (5 days)

   
This course offers training for SWAT team members with prior basic SWAT training and will address intermediate and advanced tactics and techniques. Students will be introduced to resolution of barricaded suspect situation tactics, individual and team covert movement and chemical agent, less-lethal and diversionary device overviews. High-risk warrant service and hostage rescue techniques will also be covered in-depth. The students will complete multiple fast-paced field training exercises that will improve and enhance tactical skills.  

 

Basic Tcleose Instructor Certification

 This 40 hour course will cover basic teaching techniques, lesson plan preparation, preparing written and proficiency exams. The use of multi-media equipment, learning deficiencies and issues between adult v. youth learners. We will discuss the different types of trainers and their advantages and disadvantages. We will also discuss the importance of career trainers, product trainers and specialized program trainers as they pertain to Law Enforcement. Course contracted through licensed providers.

 

Tactical Firearms Instructor Certification (5 days)

This 40 hour course will cover weapons proficiency, shooting stances, weapon handling and storage, use of force issues, evaluation of firing range rules and safety. The three different types of firearm courses, familiarization, proficiency, and tactical. The use of electronic control targets, metal targets, cardboard targets and how to conduct realistic scenarios.  Course contracted through licensed providers.

 

Tactical Rifle Instructor Course (3 DAYS)

This 24 hour course is for the firearms instructor who is already proficient in rifle handling skills and shooting skills. We will cover the fundamentals of rifle marksmanship, patrol rifle shooting stances, nomenclature of rifle, content and development of an existing or new rifle training program. Officer’s will be trained in rifle handling skills (load, unload, reload, malfunctions, etc.). The use of effective range instruction techniques and target analysis, tactical use of cover and concealment, low-light shooting techniques under stress, live scenario based training, practical range exercises, liability, target acquisition,  sight adjustment, engagement of multiple targets, transition techniques handgun-rifle, use of force & case law, decision making and problem solving. Students must pass a written exam and demonstrate proficiency. Students will be expected to conduct range exercises

 

Mechanical and Shotgun Breaching (2 days) 

This course is designed to expose tactical team members to various breaching tools and techniques and the considerations that should be exercised during the deployment of personnel.

 

High Risk Warrant Service (2 days)

This comprehensive course will trained Drug/Gang/Tactical personnel assigned to a high-risk warrant service. Concepts involving warrant planning; intelligence gathering; target site scouting; uses of diversion and breaching; and methods of executing the warrant inclusive of dynamic entry, breach and hold, limited penetration, and contain and call out will be taught in this hands-on, challenging course. 

 

Flash / Sound Diversionary Device End User Certification ( 1 day)  

This is a certification course designed to familiarize attendees with flash/sound diversion devices. Topics to be covered include history of diversion devices, definitions, nomenclature, legal aspects of diversion devices, policy issues, preparation and deployment of diversion devices and practical application.

 

Ballistic Shield (1 day)   

During operational instruction students will learn the various methods of ballistic shield use during room clearing. Student will also learn the pros and cons of one officer shield use versus two officer shield use.   

 

Hostage Rescue (2 days)  

A follow-up to Basic SWAT training, this course will train SWAT personnel in the crucial aspects of hostage rescue operations.  Topics include hostage rescue concepts, rapid deployment and emergency entry tactics, tactical operations center concepts, crisis negotiations concepts and hostage rescue force options including tactical precision long rifle operations, stronghold and vehicle options. 

 

High Risk Warrant Service (1 day)

This 8 hour course will cover basic warrant of arrest tactics, pre-planning procedures, raid planning, use of vehicles, tactical considerations, officer safety, debriefing tactics, liability issues, case law dealing with Knock and Announce Procedures. Officers will Conduct several arrests through tactical scenarios on suspected places and buildings.

 

CQB Tactics (Tactical Handcuffing, Weapon Retention, Take Down Tactics)(1 day)

 

This 8 hour Combative course will cover, weapon retention, tactical speed handcuffing considerations on close quarter combat confrontations, pressure points, striking tactics, combat fitness-using the 30-60-90 Second survival mindset and use of force concerns. One-officer and multiple subjects cuffing tactics. The use of different types of tactical handcuffing stances. Knife and Ground Defense Tactics, analysis of types of knives used to commit assaults against police officers. Fitness v. Wellness Recommendations. Recommended Re-certification every two years

 

Taser X26  Electronic Control Devices Certification (1 dAY)

This 8 Hr course will cover Use of force issues, technical capabilities of the (Taser) and its different Law Enforcement Models. We will discuss the trajectory guidelines of impact, officer safety issues and safety handling and storage of the taser. Recommended Re-certification every year. Students are required to provide at least two 15’ yellow cartridges, & one 21’ blue training TASER cartridges for Certification. 

 

Pepper Spray (OC) Certification (6hrs)

This 6hr intermediate weapon certification course includes instruction in a classroom presentation and hands on use on chemical agents. The officer will be exposed to a contaminated environment to test their reactions. From a tactical standpoint officers will be made aware that the use of chemical agents should always be given consideration as a less lethal force option. Officers will be Voluntarily Exposed to different types of Pepper Spray’s (Defense Technologies Products, Fox, Sabre, Cap-Stun etc.)  And their adverse reaction on individuals. We provide Inert and Duty Pepper Spray for Certification. Recommended Re-certification every two years. 

 

Asp Tactical Baton Certification (1 Day)

This 8 hour course is designed to acquaint participants with operational use of the ASP Tactical Baton. The training includes basic portation (carrying), presentation (drawing), techniques, as well as defensive strikes, use of force and report writing. Certification acknowledges that the individual officer met competency based standard of knowledge and performance regarding the ASP Tactical Baton. We provide Tactical Batons for Certification. Recommended Re-certification every two years.

 

Ripp Restraints (Hobble Restraints) (4 hrs)

This 4 hour course will cover the proper use of Hobble Restraints using the T.A.R.P. method of restraining. The use of soft medical restraints for the Mentally ILL & Mentally Retarded. The proper use of Hobble Restraints for violent prisoner transports, search methods, and the proper use for de-cuffing non-violent and violent prisoners. We will discuss In-Custody Death Prevention and the use of the S.W.A.R.M. technique for the control of Cocaine Psychosis individuals. We provide the HOBBLE RESTRAINTS for certification. Recommended Re-certification every two years.
